Sophie F. Frederickson is an herbalist and wholistic food educator with a lifelong passion for promoting & teaching healthy eating. She volunteered at the Washington (DC) Youth Garden at the National Arboretum where she taught artisan bread making and seasonal cooking to inner city youth while tending the herb garden. Sophie also taught cooking classes to children 4th-6th grade at the Smithsonian Associates Summer Camp. She volunteers at Gunston Hall Plantation where she takes care of the herb garden, leads children’s tours and cooks in the open hearth kitchen, using 18th century receipts. Always seeking something more, she completed her master’s degree in Therapeutic Herbalism at Maryland University for Integrative Health August, 2013
